Shrek 2 is the story of Shrek (Mike Myers) and Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) after there unexpected wedding as in Shrek. The movie starts right where the second one leaves off. Shrek and Fiona are on there honeymoon and ready to celebrate when they are interupted by not only Donkey (Eddie Murphy) but also the servants of Fiona's mother and father, the king and queen of Far Far Away. The servants announce Fiona's parents wishes of a celebration of there wedding. So Shrek and Fiona travel to Far Far Away to meet them. And when they find out that Shrek is not who they were expecting the story is set into full motion. Shrek trying to do everything to become a handsome prince and be liked by Fiona's father and her father doing everything he can to arrange the marriage of Fiona and the actual handsome prince Charming.
The movie starts slow and speeds up with the reintroduction of Donky, played once again by the hilarious Eddie Murphy. Inciting some great moments on the trip to Far Far Away Donkey continues in this movie with some of the best comic relief in recent years. But he doesn't carry the laughs all the way through this time. Only until the introduction of one of the best sidekicks ever Puss-in-Boots (Shown above) played by the now funny Antonio Bandaras. Puss-in-Boots is Shreks hired assasin, until they meet. From there he becomes Shrek's best sidekick and comic front running comedian throughout the movie.
Shrek 2 is another beautiful Dreamworks animation. The settings and enviroments that Dreamworks create for this movie are amazing to say the least. The Hollywood-esque town of Far Far Away is thoroughly thoughtout and helps provide an understanding for the way the characters that live there think and feel. The movie as a whole is funny all the way through and quite truely better than the original. Many people were fans of the first movie which I thought was funny but not all its cracked up to be. This movies is everything its cracked up to be and more. The pop-culture references especially hit the mark with me, from cracks including Justin Timberlake to George W. Bush, the movie was fantastic. The jokes are always funny with very few misses and it truely makes you think about how it feels to see a good movie, which is so rare nowadays.
